Sundays, 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
First United Methodist Church of Los Angeles
714 W Olympic Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90015
First United Methodist Church of Los Angeles is a multicultural, LGBT-welcoming, progressive church in the South Park area of downtown Los Angeles. Join us for our informal worship celebration on Sunday mornings at 10:30am. We gather in the Community Room of Villa Flores Apartments, at 1020 S. Flower St. (just south of Olympic & Flower). Enter through the Garden Gate from the corner of the parking lot with the big hands.
In 1854, the church was born in the converted El Dorado Saloon. It was a leader in the abolitionist movement during the Civil War, and over the last 160 years, has helped to found the University of Southern California, Goodwill Industries, Methodist Hospital, the Chinese Mission, the Korean Mission, Children’s Learning Center, Los Angeles Urban Foundation and several affordable housing properties in Los Angeles.
Our story isn’t over! As one of the last, progressive, mainline, protestant ministries in Downtown Los Angeles, we are preparing for a future at least as rich as our past. You are welcome to join us!
